The Maine Association of School Libraries (MASL) provides connections for creating and advancing effective school library programs through professional development, advocacy, and community-building.

MASL's Maine School Librarian Handbook

The Maine School Librarian Handbook is a very useful resource for all school library staff.  It contains information about procedures, resources, professional development, curriculum, etc.

The 750 Maine School Librarian Handbooks were distributed at no cost to all schools (public and private) in the State of Maine. A letter was sent to school principals informing them of this delivery and they were encouraged to meet with their library staffs to discuss the importance of the library program in their school(s). The handbook is available below in pdf format.  Updates and additions are readily accessible and will be announced via MELIBS and on the MASL webpage.
